If this is the movie with a scene where a charactor goes into a lake
and then comes back out (i'm sure many movies have scenes like this...)
 anyways. I was told that the scene mentioned above happened at a small
lake on the road that goes from corinth, NY, up west mountain (not the
skiing mountain) and overlooks the Sacandaga before going down to meet a
road by the reservoir.  Then when the actor(actress?) comes back up,
it is a different location.

Also, did anyone mention "slapshot" for a movie filmed in NY (utica, and
possibly syracuse before renovations of the War memorial )
