STREETER & the New York & Pennsylvania Railroad
Seeking original timetables, route maps, or any other railroadiana
from the New York & Pennsylvania Railroad that includes a stop
called "Streeters." The NYP (pronounced NIP) operated from
approximately 1895 until 1935.
The "Streeters" stop was located on the Streeter family farm (est.
1875), which is located between Greenwood and Canisteo, Steuben
County, New York.
For your reference, I have included some extracts from Paul
Pietrak's book, "The Coudersport & Port Allegany [Railroad] and the
New York & Pennsylvania [Railroad]" (North Boston, New York: Paul
Pietrak, 1972).
The New York & Pennsylvania started at a junction with the
Erie Railroad in Canisteo, New York and ran southwest into
Pennsylvania, sweeping down into Potter County along the
Oswayo Valley then up again entering New York State at Ceres.
