Please join the Association of Public Historians of New York State
(APHNYS) for its 2012 Annual State Conference on Long Island April
23-25, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency, in Hauppauge, NY

APHNYS is the official professional development association for New
York State’s Local Government Historians. The 2012 Annual State
Conference offers a wide-range of sessions on the preservation,
protection, and promotion of local history, as well as informative field
experiences showing off the “historical jewels” of Long Island.
Participants learn from fellow practitioners and experts in the field
from across the Empire State. With Long Island hosting the event this
year, special emphasis is being placed on the rich heritage of Nassau
and Suffolk Counties.

New to the conference this year: is a special Workshop Series for
Historical Societies and Local Museums that will focus on leadership
development, strategic planning, fundraising, and working in conjunction
with Local Government Historians. One does not need to be a member of
APHNYS nor a government historian to attend the conference.

The APHNYS 2012 Annual State Conference is an ideal event for
archivists, librarians, preservationists, museum professionals, and all
lovers of local history! Learn more about the conference by going to:
