I am interested in assembling a panel that focuses on the histories of New
York State prisons for the Conference on New York State History (June 5-7,
2008; for more information see http://www.nyhistory.com/cnysh/cfp2008.htm).
My proposed paper will focus on the history of the prisoners confined
within the New York State Prison in New York City from 1797 to 1828. If you
work on historical subjects related to crime in New York or New York’s
prison system and would like to form a panel for the conference, please send
an email to me at [log in to unmask] The deadline for paper and panel
submissions is December 31, 2007 at 5 pm.
