It appears that tenants' leases of major landowners (Rensellaer, etc.) generally reserved millsites 
(along with mineral rights) to the owner, but it is not clear whether those sites were then leased 
separately or sold outright.  I would appreciate any information that anyone may have as well as 
being pointed toward sources for such information.
