Hi Jim --

An important use of the old Sanborn maps was after the 1906 San 
Francisco quake and fire, and the old California maps are still used by 
the planning and assessment departments of California cities.  Many of 
the maps have been digitized. Currently, an important use of the Sanborn 
CitySets is in risk management, especially in the center-city areas of 
major cities, where terrorism might be a concern . . .
