Genealogy * Court Records
Retired Judge John Austin will discuss New York State Court System records and the genealogical information that may be obtained from them. Included in this talk will be the locations of court records, types of court cases that yield family history information, pointers to published guides, and transcripts. Judge Austin presided in County, Surrogate's, and Family courts in Warren County. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Genealogists and served as Editor of the New England Historical and Genealogical Register in the 1970's.
