Greetings,

Am wondering if anyone has come across information on John Jacob Astor's
possible influence on the building of the Erie Canal, perhaps through his
acquaintance with Philip Hone? (I did come across one reference at
http://authorsdirectory.com/b/jastr10.htm ).

Thanks. Everyone have a great holiday.
