Dear New York Historians!

There are a few important announcements on New York History Net
www.nyhistory.com we would like to bring to your attention.

1. Publication of _The Empire State_, edited by Milton Klein. This is a
major new work, long awaited. It is the first book of its sort since David
Ellis' 1957 _A Short History of New York State_. New York History Net is
soliciting reviewers for this book.

2. The Gotham History Festival, an exciting and important conference on
October 5-7 in NYC. A free weekend conference with over 100 panels,
roundtables, film screenings, an exhibit & a book fair exploring New York
City's past and its relation to the future.
