The State Museum announces three new websites that may be of general interest:

http://www.nysm.nysed.gov/srv/largemarkers/index.html
A searchable web version of the 1970 SED booklet describing the 139 large format Historical Area Markers put up at rest areas along the Thruway and other state roads in the 1960s. This is a great summary overview of regional New York State History.

http://www.nysm.nysed.gov/herkimerhome/index.html
A pictorial update of the loan of the Museum's replica Mohawk River batteau to the Herkimer Home State Historic Site for the summer and fall as part of the new Erie Canal Schoolboat children's education program run by Herkimer County BOCES.

http://www.nysm.nysed.gov/srv/starks/index.html
A project homepage for the rehabilitation of the Starks' Knob Scientific Reservation - the 1916 donation to the Regents commonly known as the State's "extinct volcano". This is also a "check-in" page for our partners in the Schuylerville area who are cooperating on this project, and their contributions to it are welcome.
