As far as I know no criminals were deported to the 13 colonies or Canada.
Though many had to leave England, France and Germany because of religious
persecution: the Puritans, Catholics, Quackers and others.

Someone leaves home because they want more then they can get if they stay:
more money more freedom more food more of something or they be content and
stay where they are.

"Early immigrant miscreants?" One person's miscreant is another's enterpreneur.
