According to the Encyclopedia Brittanica's Web site on Women
in American History (I will e-mail you the link), Ellen Beach Yaw
was born in Boston, New York (near Buffalo) on September 14, 1869.
(I have found another site that gives the year as 1868. I would tend to
trust Brittanica, but will try to confirm the 1869 date in some other
sources when I have a chance.)
