Call for Papers - New Journal

The New York State Archives announces the publication of a new journal dedicated to showcasing research based on the historical records in the New York State Archives as well as in other repositories in New York State. The journal will be a publication of the New York State Archives and the Archives Partnership Trust and will be sent to all Trust members as a benefit of membership and also be distributed more broadly.

While the journal is intended to appeal to scholars, it will also reach a wider audience of individuals and educators who possess a broad interest in history. Although the journal is still in the planning stages, it is expected that each issue will contain both short articles of about 1000 -1500 words and longer articles of about 2500-3500 words.

The journal will be published three times a year, with the possible addition of a theme-based fourth issue. The first issue is scheduled for late Spring 2001. Writers will be expected to prepare a 100-word abstract and suggest images to accompany their papers.

Please submit a proposal of your article by December 21, 2000.
