To Serve the Community is a multidimensional view of a community, of the
healthcare problems it faced, and of its responses to the challenges
that the nineteenth and twentieth centuries posed. This pictorial
history is a tribute to the hundreds of Rochesterians who have devoted
their lives to improve the health of this Western New York community at
Rochester City/Rochester General Hospital.

with more than 240 color and black and white photographs, 33
biographical sketches of prominent members of the hospital community.
