1) Is there something approaching a comprehensive bibliography for New York history? The bibliographic essay in Ellis, et al. "A Short History of New York State" is very useful, but of course it's 43 years old. (In "New York: State and City" (1979), Ellis still refers people back to it.) The New Netherland Project has an online bibliography, but naturally it focuses on the Dutch colonial era. A comprehensive online bibliography would be extremely helpful. Perhaps the New York State Historical Association or New York History Net would consider investing in one if it doesn't exist already. Barring that, an online index to the journal "New York History" would also be a help.

2) Why doesn't New York History Net have a link to "Rochester History," a journal published by the Rochester public library since 1939? All the back issues are available online in pdf format.
The link is: http://www.rochester.lib.ny.us/~rochhist/index.html
Does anyone know of any similar local or state history journals made available in this manner?
