Yes, checking with older relatives is a great ideal. Yet a person my not have
many older relatives to ask or they may be unwilling to give out any
information. That's the case for me. Yes there are a lot of places to look up
genealogy records in New York. One important thing to mention is don't get
frustrated and give up. Sometimes it takes a while to locate family records.
I know I've been there and done it. And still looking for Fred and William
LaVoy's of Glens Falls New York for two years and haven't found the records
