Has anyone ever heard of a port called "GUNBANK"? My great-grandmother
arrived from Hamburg (her trunk sayd "Hamburg - New York") sometime
around 1850. She wrote a letter back to Germany (which was never
mailed) and in it mentions having arrived at "Gunbank" and going
directly to "Montis". This is a translation from old German script.
I'll appreciate any ideas/speculation/guesses.
Thanks
Karen Campola
