The Upstate History Alliance is pleased to announce that it will offer
CM101: Introductory Collections Management Course through its new Distance
Learning Program again!. UHA is currently accepting registrations for the
course which will begin on March 19, 2007.

The course will be taught by Joann Lindstrom, a consultant specializing in
collections work at small museums and will feature several guest chatters
during weekly live chat sessions. Materials are designed to help you focus
on your own organization, with assignments relating to real-life issues and
problems at your own organization.
 
Topics to be covered over a twelve week period include:
 
    * Mission & Ethics
    * Accreditation
    * Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act
    * Collections Management Policies
    * Disaster Plans
    * Collecting Plans
    * Deaccessioning
    * Reproduction Rights
    * Accessioning
    * Registration
    * Security
    * Storage
    * Preventive Conservation Measures

The cost for this 12-week workshop is $150/UHA Members and $250/Non-Members.
