The Supreme Court Special Term had jurisdiction in equity matters (e.g. mortgage foreclosures). All records of the trial terms of Supreme Court (including Special Term) are held by the county clerk's office in the county where the term was held. Contact the Erie County Clerk's Office, 25 Delaware Ave., Buffalo, NY 14202; phone 716-858-8865.

On 10 Oct 1889, a Special Term of the Supreme Court was being held at the Courthouse in Buffalo (Erie), NY. Does anyone know where transcripts of that court session might be found?

Trying to determine why a particular judgment was rendered against my ancestors' land on that date...
