A most recent detection concerns Halsey House Museum on South Main Street in
the village of Southampton, New York. It was thought to be the oldest house
until earlier this year or, late last year when they uncovered something.
This discovery came some time after the shingle building was renovated.

Its phone no. is 631 283-3527. I doubt that it is open during the week off
season but the town historian can be reached at 283-6000 and could either
recount what was found or put someone in touch with the museum director.
