Is anyone familiar with the 1790 New York STATE (rather than FEDERAL)
census of towns in Albany County?

I have some questions about it. All that I know of it is from a 1975
compilation by Kenneth Scoot (Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing, 1975).
(The originals appear to be in the New YOrk State Library and new yok
historical society--is this correct.)

Was this census conducted SEPARATELY and distinctly from the FEderal
census. And, if so, in what months were the two censuses conducted.

ARe copies of the original available in Microform? I am interested in
seeing the order of the names on the original copies (Scott records them
in alphabetical order, rather than the order in which the names appeared).
I want to see the orignal order of names because I am attempting to site
some squatters who were settling on some hill lands in schoharie county.

thanks for your assistance
