The Upstate New York Archives Conference, Ithaca College, June 13-15, 2002, has several sessions of interest to those interested in New York history. Milton Sernett of Syracuse University and the NYS Freedom Trail Commission will be speaking about the Underground Railroad in upstate NY. Scott Anderson of SUNY Cortland will discuss the historical-geographical context of the recent federal court award in the Cayuga Nation land claim case. Other conference sessions will focus on church and cemetery archives in western NY, evaluation and preservation of historical government records, and management of and access to electronic records. Conference attendees will also have an opportunity to tour archives at Cornell University and Ithaca College. For a full conference program and registration form, go to http://www.ithaca.edu/library/archives/loac/program2002.html
