American Revolution,  Thomas J. Wertenbaker,  Father Knickerbocker Rebels,
and Oscar T. Barck, New York City during the War for Independence.
  You might also look at Klein and Ronald Howard, eds., The
Twilight of British Rule in Revolutionary America: The New York Letter
Book of General James Robertson, 1780-1783.
