If you have ever done research on objects in collections and been frustrated by trying to capture their three-dimensional details using drawing tools or even a camera, this webpage may be of interest.

It describes an effective, yet inexpensive, method by which you can create stereo images of these objects that you can examine and re-examine at your leisure in your own work space. It is especially useful for the capture of very small objects with very low relief, such as coins, buttons and seals.

It also works on very large objects, such as buildings, streetscapes and landscapes!

Find the details at: http://www.nysm.nysed.gov/microphotography.html

Please feel free to cross-post this to other lists.
