Hello. I've been lurking and learning. I recently
found that a ggrandfather was in Company I of the
123rd NYS Volunteer Infantry. Another ggrandfather was
in the Ulster Guard in Ulster Co. The Ulster Guard had
both a "local" brigade number and a "state" brigade
number. (Sorry I can't use the terms more explicitly.
This is the first veteran in my family I've found.)
Does the 123rd have a similar nomenclature--a local
and a state number? Which is the 123rd? Charles
GOODWIN was from Saratoga Co. Thanks and a blessed
Christmas. Daniel
