There is no labelled text for the NYS Geographical Center in either
Delorme's "New York Atlas & Gazetteer, Sixth Edition, 2001" or the
Delorme "Street Atlas"/CD (I have Ver.5). That probably means that it
doesn't appear on any USGS contour map either, since they seem to
include all kinds of old/obsolete text details from USGS map labels in
the Street Atlas CD.

However, there is an unlabelled "+" mark which might be this location
(better confirm this guess first). The "+" mark (in the "Street Atlas"/CD)
is north of Cramer Rd, west of Pratts Hollow, about 2/3 of distance to
the next crossroads with CR47, labelled Gills Corners.

I used the "location" name Pratts Hollow to bring up the Street Atlas
section, then zoomed-in and moved around looking for any labels.
The "+" was the only alternative possibility I noted.

When you find that marker, please Post The Text found on it,
especially any Date.

Good Luck!

Pratts Hollow, here in Madison County, has always
taken great pride in being the geographical center
of N.Y.S. I am looking for the *exact* location.
One old-timer told me he thought there was a marker
or post denoting the spot, but nobody can seem
to remember where it is. Anyone have any ideas?
