One way of checking would be to look at daily newspapers for any city. The microfilm copy of the New York Times for 1888 is on the public floor at the State Library (7th floor of the CEC). If that paper doesn't list the names of each of the candidates, go to the New York State Newspaper Project's Website - www.nysl.nysed.gov/nysnp - and look at the microfilm holdings for the State Library. You could pull NYC papers or try Albany, Rochester or Buffalo papers, to name just a few. One of them will have the names with results a day or two after the elections and many newspapers ran the complete slates about a week or so before.

Does anyone know who ran for President and Vice President on the Socialist Labor Party ticket in 1888?

The Legislative Manual printed results of the election in which the total vote for the party in New York State was 2,068. The majority of these votes (1,772) were in New York County. Unfortunately, the candidate names are not listed. I have not been able to find any sources that include the names of the Socialist Labor candidates.

The rest of the New York results for the 1888 Presidential Election are:

Cleveland/Thurman (Dem) - 635,965
Harrison/Morton (Rep) - 650,338
Frisk/Brooks (Prohibition) - 30,231
Streeter/Cunningham (Union Labor) - 627
Cowdery/Wakefield (United Labor) - 519
