Hi,

I tried to post this two weeks ago but it never showed up on the
list...at
least I didn't see it..

In regards to involvement in local history has anyone considered
doing an
archaeological program? I've just finished a six week dig for the Rye (New
York) Historical Society we had over 400 students and parents come to the
site to excavate. It was incredible. The kids loved it and got a lot out
of finding out about their past by using their hands and not just looking
stuff up in a book.

I've worked with the Historical Society in putting together this
archaeological/education program. You might try to contact your local
university and see if the archaeologists are willing to work with you and
your students.

If you'd like more information on the program I set up, just let me
know.

Best of luck,
Chris Ricciarid
