Opening this weekend, Rensselaer County Goes to War: War and the Home Front,
1775-2003. This exhibit will run from May 15 - December 23, 2004.
Comprised of three exhibits, this major exhibition focuses on how war from
the Revolution to 20th century conflicts has affected the lives of
Rensselaer County citizens. With military uniforms, civilian clothing,
paintings, and stunning objects such as presentation swords, Rensselaer
County Goes to War, tells a powerful and timely story of how war is not just
fought on the front lines.

Also of interest to listserv readers, the Rensselaer County Historical
Society is still accepting paper proposals for the symposium, Upstate New
York Goes to War: War and the Home Front, 1775-2004 to be held at the
Rensselaer County Historical Society, Troy NY October 29-30, 2004.

For more information or an official call for papers please contact Stacy
