The Stoddard guide books speak of a "Bonney's Summer Retreat" on Third Lake
of the Essex Chain as early as 1876. By 1891, its referred to as "Bonney's
Hotel" By 1900-1909 it became the "Chain Lakes House" or "Hutchin's Camp",
able to accommodate up to 40 guests at $10-12 per week.

Can you tell us which period the gent in question's grandparents were
operating the place? Would help to pin down possible publications.
