     I think there is an error on your timeline for 1861-1864. You have
listed for January 30, 1862 that John Ericsson's ironclad, the USS Monitor,
is launched at Greenport, Long Island. Actually, the location of the launch
is Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Long Island.
