q Warrensburgh News,Sep.30,1916 - "News was received here last week of
the death of Harvey H. Bonney at Pittsfield,Mass., the city of his birth.
Mr. Bonney and his wife, who was formerly Miss Annie Caswell of Troy, came
to this place about 1866 or '67 and went to Chain Lakes and built a log
camp. Later he built a larger log cabin and kept hunters and fishermen who
were willing to go so far in the wilderness for fish and game. Mr. Bonney
continued in this business until 1893, when he sold to other parties and
since that time has spent his summers here until the last two years when he
was too feeble to come. Mrs. Bonney died in 1897 and is buried here. Mr.
Bonney was nearly 82 years old and was well known by all of the older
residents of this place. He was a veteran of the Civil War. "
