Today 53% of girls are dissatisfied with their bodies by the age of 13 and many begin a pattern of weight obsession and dieting as early as 8 or 9.  Why?

Cornell University historian Joan Jacobs Brumberg will answer this question and examine how social changes of the past century have affected the ways in which adolescent girls regard their bodies and themselves.
