We have a copy of the Book of Plans of the New York State Barge Canal,
issued by the state engineer in 1920, and I am evaluating it as a
potential scanning project.

It's a collection of 156 11" x 17" plates with engineering diagrams of
dams and other structures related to the canal. Since some of the
text is very tiny even at full size, this would probably be presented
through some sort of magnifier with a standard image for printing.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who would find this
useful - for use in teaching a class, writing a book, etc - as a way
of justifying the project.

Thanks,
