Chuck:
There is an extensive body of research in Vermont on the landclaim disputes
between New York and Ethan Allen's Vermonters in the years after the Revolution. The
most available source would probably be Vermont History published by the Vermont
Historical Society and available at many universities. Of course these tend to
illustrate the Vermont side of the equation and may give short shrift to the Yorkers
who were displaced by the final settlement that led to Vermont's statehood in 1791.
