And also General Parker's grandnephew, Arthur C. Parker (1881-1955), a noted anthropologist and museum administrator.

How about General Ely S. Parker?  He certainly qualifies as a "native" New
Yorker. Parker was a Seneca Indian who was Gen'l Grants Aide de Camp and
also his first Commissioner of Indian Affairs. Parker was also a graduate of
RPI.
