1. Some exteriors of "Nobody's Fool" (Paul Newman) were shot in Hudson (Columbia County). These included a number of shots with Newman.

2. A PBS historical drama about the iron industry, "Moulders of Troy," was filmed in the Capital District; a number of street exteriors were shot in Coxsackie (Greene County).

3. In January 1924 William deMille, brother of Cecil B., came to Leeds (Greene County) to film scenes for the Paramount production of "Icebound," to star Richard Dix and Lois Wilson. The story revolved around a snowcovered New England-style house and its surroundings. They found what they felt was the perfect location in Leeds. The "local angle" of this story - including the problems they encountered when they found that their winter shoot was in the midst of a warm, snowless winter - is described in the Summer 1979 edition (vol. 3 #2) of the Greene County Historical Journal. Individual copies of this edition (or a copy of the story) should still be available for a small fee from the Greene County Historical Society, Vedder Research Library, Coxsackie, NY 12051.
