BACKGROUND: This compelling presentation reintroduces the Civil War's greatest hero and eighteenth President of the United States - a complex figure hailed as a savior, reviled as a butcher - through his own words and historical images. Grant wrote his memoirs at Mt. McGregor, near Saratoga Springs.
The Archives Partnership Trust, sponsor of the event, is a not-for-profit organization created by the state legislature to support the New York State Archives. Proceeds from this event will benefit the State Archives history education programs.
