There is a chapter in Carl Carmer's Listen for a Lonesome Drum, 1936,
(pp.229-237) on the Loomises and an article in New York Folklore
Quarterly, Vol. 10, No. 3, autumn 1954, (pp.195-197). This article cites
H. W. Thompson's Body, Boots and Britches, 1940, as having traditional
tales about the "Lummises."
