Philip L. Lord, Jr., "Mills on the Tstatsawassa: Techniques for
Documenting Early 19th Century Water-Powered Industry in Rural New
York"
(Albany: State Education Department, 1983) has an article, with
diagrams,
etc. of vertical saws, concerning the Eli Vickery Sawmill Complex east
of
Albany.
