The 1992 booklet - "Canajohary: The Archeology of Mohawk River Trade and Transport in the 1790s" - which was originally published in partnership with the community, has been republished on the Museum website in an expanded and enhanced format.

The State Museum research was conducted as part of the Durham project, and involved re-discovering "lost" 200 year old sites in the Canajoharie community (Montgomery County). This was only made possible by using the wonderful collection of 100 year old historic watercolors in the State Library's "Grider Collection".

These images provided the critical eyewitness links to the original sites (1990 to 1890 to 1790), and the enhanced web-version of the 1992 publication presents the Grider watercolors in full color, thanks to the support of the State Library.

The site has some depth, so be sure to check out the various links to sub-pages.
