Attention historic property caretakers: Is your organization housed in an
historic structure? Are you struggling to preserve an historic building?

Come to the Beautiful Hudson Valley Region of New York to attend a one-day
workshop on "Funding for Historic Preservation."  Sponsored by Adriance
Memorial Library, Poughkeepsie Public Library District, Poughkeepsie, NY and
site of a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center.

When: Saturday, November 4, 2000 9:30-4:00 pm. Registration begins at 9:00
am.

Where: Mid-Hudson Library System Auditorium, 105 Market Street, Poughkeepsie
NY 12601

What's in Store: A full day of discussion, advice, ideas and inspiration for
planning and funding successful historic preservation projects.

Morning Panel: presentations and discussion by representatives of several
regional historic sites (Kingston City Hall, Gomez Mill House and
Wilderstein) who are successful in fundraising and preservation efforts
using diverse approaches.

Afternoon Panel: presentations by persons in the preservation field who
provide advice on technical assistance for projects and fundraising
activities (representatives from the NYSOPRHP/Bureau of Historic Sites, NY
Preservation League, and the New York Conservancy/Sacred Sites program). A
buffet lunch and Keynote Address by Kate Kerin of Hudson River Heritage is
included to round out the workshop. Afterwards join an optional tour of the
nearby recently restored Bardavon 1869 Opera House.

There is a $10. fee for this workshop which includes lunch. Registration is
limited; final registration date is Friday, October 27. For additional
