A patron has uncovered some old buttons with the inscription "Hungerford,
NY" . They were found in the Town of Islip, near Brookwood Hall. Research
on the family name Hungerford turns up families in upstate NY, rather than
Long Island. Can anyone suggest a direction to take?
Thanks,
