Iroquois Land Claims, a book edited by Chistoper Vescey and William A. Starna,
(Syracuse University Press, 1988) has a chapter called "The Historical
Background to the Present-Day Seneca Nation-Salamanca Lease Controversy" by
Laurence M. Hauptman. That would be a good start.

Also, there is a chapter on NY land Claims, which discusses Salamanca and
others, in Struggle For The Land, by Ward Churchill (Common Courage Press,
1993).
