My grandfather (as a young man, when visiting NYC from England) was
caught-up or slightly affected by this incident, which occurred March 28,
year unknown!

I have an original letter, written on notepaper from the Hotel Brevoort,
"Anciennement Brevoort House" then located at the corner of 5th Avenue and
8th Street (location in French though) describing the disruption wrought "by
the Socialists", the ambulances, and the reactions of the police.

Can any historian suggest a date from the newspaper records, and/or want a
copy of the letter?

Gratefully
Phil Plumbe
