A new listserv has been created just for officially appointed Local
Government Historians in New York State, to facilitate communication,
the rapid transfer of information, and timely announcements of important
events and opportunities. This list has been established by the Museum
Services Division of the State Museum as a way to help overcome the great
distances that separate individual local historians working in government.

Subscriptions are increasing at a steady rate, and if you are one of the
1,600 plus appointed Local Government Historians and have not signed up yet,
here is how you do it.

If you have Web access, go to: http://unix10.nysed.gov/archives/nys-lgh.html
 and click "Join the list".

Or, using email, simply send a message to [log in to unmask] Do not
write anything in the "Subject" line. In the message window, write: ADD
NYS-LGH followed by your e-mail address and your name (first then last) and
send it.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
