        Hofstra University's Long Island Studies Institute is holding a one-day
conference on Long Island History on Monday, March 30, 1998.  Thirteen speakers
are featured in six concurrent sessions.  Topics include African Americans,
historic archaeology, Sachem Wyandanch, architecture, revolutionary war, pine
barrens, gold coast families, women, and three videos (with the film makers).
