MALTA — In Joe Ferrannini’s line of work, nobody talks back.

That’s one of the benefits of conserving centuries-old gravestones in
area cemeteries such as Dunning Street Cemetery, the final resting
place of veterans from the Revolution, War of 1812 and Civil War.
