I'd like to be put in contact with someone knowledgeable about the local
history of Lockport (or perhaps a western New York photo historian). I
have been researching a pair of daguerreotypiers (Graves and Prudden) in
the 1850s who had their home base in Lockport but spent a lot of their
time roaming around the Niagara Peninsula, visiting places
like St. Catharines and Niagara-on-the-Lake. I want to find out more
about the bigger picture of their careers, the New York side of their
lives. I'd also like to find out what
became of them. And, if I can find anyone in New York state wo knows
and cares about them, I'd like to pass on what I know about the Canadian
part of their careers.
