Who knows what information in the NYS Department of State’s Amistad Commission’s “‘reports for the governor and the legislature regarding [the Amistad Commission’s] findings and recommendations on facilitating the inclusion of the African slave trade, American slavery studies, African-American history and special programs in the educational system of the state’ mandated by N.Y. ARTS & CULT. AFF. LAW § 57.53 (3) per L. 2005 ch. 404” could possibly need to be kept secret from the public?

> Dear Mr. Philippo:
>
> Pertaining to your January 19, 2016 FOIL request concerning NYS Amistad, it is taking significantly longer than anticipated to review each document to determine what information is disclosable and what is not. Please be advised the Department of State needs additional time. Anticipated date is now May 20, 2016.
